Pokéstops Egg Drops

I have collected data as to where or not certain stops drop 10k, 5k, and 2k eggs. I can say with all certainty that they do. I had noticed that my daughter’s and son’s accounts all were filled with 10k and 5k eggs while my account was filled with 2k. I determined that I took in a larger distribution of Pokéstops than they did and they only hit 3 stops going to and from our house to the public pool. I decided to take a week and about 5 hours a day to find the 10k Pokéstop and after hatching 40 plus eggs, I have found the 5k and the 10k stops. Now the problem is not as simple as finding the 10k Pokéstop, but knowing when it’s going to drop the 10k egg. As it would have it, the 10k Pokéstop is not limited to dropping a 10k, but it can drop a 2k, not only that the Pokéstop the can go up to 8 attempts before dropping an egg, and finally the eggs drops at certain times of the day, making the Pokéstop egg drops appear randomly, when in fact they are not. In summary 2k, Pokéstops give you 2k eggs, 5k, Pokéstops give you 5k eggs, 10k Pokéstops, you have make and mental note of and try to get a 10k egg whenever you have an open slot.

So pretty much for the 10k egg drop, you don’t really have a high chance of discovering it unless someone tells you about the stop before hand, and when you do find out which stop has it you have to figure out the time frame for 10k egg drops. Then after that you still have a chance to get an egg that’s not a 10k egg. So in theoretically 10k egg drops are just a myth.. Illuminati confirmed.

(That last part was just a joke. but really though, good job on this post, thanks for taking the time out of your day to investigate this to give us this piece of information!)

I would imagine that most people would not look at what they are carrying and think what eggs they did get are what the game randomly gave them. I also, by chance had and open spot twice while leveling in up and both times received a 10k each. I think that the gave was designed to give some good gear when you level up, but you won’t get anything if you don’t have the space for it, as was the case once when I didn’t have a slot open for my egg and my item bag was full.

Nice job! I’d heard that specific pokestops were more likely to give out 10k eggs on the Silph Road. My problem is that my regular Pokestops that give out 10k eggs are almost always Eevee with the occasional Pinsir, lol.

Yeah, I had a 10k egg that gave me an Eevee and I was not happy! I’ve also had 5k eggs that gave me Venonat.  Not happy with that either.  I’ve learned that it’s just part of the game

The only good thing that I have gotten from an egg was a Lapras, all other stuff has been just crap that I can find on any street corner, sexy or not, you just don’t want that …

I wouldn’t mind getting an eevee since they’re easy to evolve, and its evolutions are pretty strong except jolteon.

I have hatched a bunch of eggs. Over 500. And I would definitely have to say not to get too worked up over them. Especially those 10 eggs. Enjoy the surprise if you get something good. but hold no expectations. I have played with people who absolutely lose it when they don’t get something amazing. I have been lucky enough to get some really good things in my eggs but then again I have hatched a bunch. I usually get good things when I forget to even keep up with them. Go figure.

This makes sense and fits in with our experiences. We have a park near our house that we used to get 10k eggs from all the time hubby got a lapres and a snorlax 😤 but since the update where they fixed the tracker we no longer find ANY 10k eggs. I have an bag full of 2k eggs and when we travel for stops sometimes get 5k but it’s always seems to be a pattern when we get them and now with this info it’s probably just when we visit certain of the way pokestops.

Different stops definitely have different egg rates. Noticed this as well.

I think Niantic has noticed what I am doing, I went from having nothing, but 2k eggs, to having a bag full of 10k and 5k eggs and however now the 10k/5k pokestops that i was using have stopped dropping eggs, or so it seems. I have to go to other pokestops to get an egg.

Also, I had 2 open egg slots when I leveled up from 27 to 28 and I didn’t get an egg of any kind much less two 10k eggs as I was expecting. Boo

This is great insight. It has seemed to me that the stops I frequent often, near the house, where I go for my runs, etc., have used up their allocation of 10k eggs. Now if I have a number of open egg slots and not in need of supplies, I try and hit new stops or infrequently hit ones. Will have to do a better job of tracking which stops give 10ks and at what times. Maybe we could set up a thread that shares that info as we develop it? Or use this one.

EGGS are so important in that if u notice that MOST pmon that come from the eggs are the best IV rated! So even tho u may get an Eevee, it’s a good chance it’s an “A” Eevee or 82%-100% Eevee. Also add that your egg will give you a lot of candy, not just three.
