Yeah. The Dragonite67 was my first one. So I went straight to powering it up. Of course, powering up back then was a great payoff because I wasn’t to a high enough level yet for the power up reward to be diminished like it is once you get to level 30. As it is, i’m too far along with him now to look back. All that said, I actually caught my second Dragonite in the wild the other night with like 50 IV’S but great moveset. It was only like CP 1000, but I’m thinking about powering it up anyway. Dragonites are such bad asses when fighting gyms, and it is so quick and easy to pick them quickly from the top of my combat power ranking list. It just seems like the right thing to do. Granted, the Dragonite I evolved that same night ended up being garbage for all the time put into him. And I’m going to end up powering him up too. His only path in life will be reaching the top of a gym. He’s useless otherwise. The good thing is once he goes up on a gym, I can keep one of the others that are on a gym now for fighting. With Dragonites, it’s a simple decision because their CP has the highest ceiling. Being on top of a gym so often makes a difference. I constantly see gyms that I have been on changed on the bottom levels. So you need to get as high up on the mountain as you can. Opportunity cost, you know. If your not having to find another gym to get on, you can focus your game elsewhere.
